What is this?

We offer an unique opportunity for all students who have just graduated high school and who desire to serve others. This opportunity is called "Leader in training" (L.I.T.) and it is a chance to shadow an older staff member in either cabin leader or on programming staff (Hawk's Crew).

What does an L.I.T. do?

An LIT basically shadows someone all week and does everything their mentor is responsible for. This is not a leadership position, but rather a chance to learn from a leader and grow in serving others. This is not to say that there won't be responsibility and that this isn't a serious job - it is because even though you are shadowing, you are still to be an example of good leadership and exemplify what it means to be staff of YAC.

How do I apply?

It's really easy to apply - just download the LIT application and send it in ASAP. We are only accepting a limited amount of people for these positions and will consider each application. You will be notified about the result of your application whether accepted or not.

What are the qualifications?

In order to apply for LIT, you must be finishing 12th grade and you must attend the first week of YAC as a camper. You must also fill out the application and have a completed pastor recommendation form turned in by the March 31, 2014 deadline. If accepted, you will be on a probationary period your week as a camper. If your attitude and/or actions are contrary to what we are looking for in leaders and LIT's, you will be removed from the position before it even begins.

Does it cost anything?

The only costs associated with the LIT position is the cost for obtaining your clearances, and the cost of postage. If you are accepted into the LIT position, you will not be required to pay for the second week of camp because you will be serving others through volunteering, shadowing, and learning.

This is shaping up to be a great year of YAC and we would love to have you join us in serving those who attend the second week of camp. If you have any questions about the LIT position, you can contact us at: staff@yaconline.com.
