What’s included in the cost?
T‐shirt, all meals (including a snack before the final evening events), and all camp activities. There is a separate Snack Store that is operated by Penn‐York Staff where campers can purchase candy and beverage between dinner and the evening worship service. All money for this is extra and at the discretion of the parents.
Where will campers sleep?
Boys and girls will be divided into separate parts of the camp and then divided into cabins with similar‐aged campers. They will stay with the group during organized activities. Campers can request two cabin‐mates and will usually be granted at least one, if not both.
Who is monitoring my child?
The Keystone Youth Ministry Team and staff will be present at all hours of the day including night shift to assure safety and attempt to eliminate any temptation to sneak around. There are no pranks tolerated as well as no sneaking out tolerated. Parents will be called and expected to come for their child in the event a camper breaks one of those rules. Campers are attended around the clock by at least one cabin leader, and usually two.
What my child is expected to bring?
See attached the YAC packing list with the downloadable registration form that includes all items your child should and should not bring.
Is there a dress code?
Yes, and it is enforced. Clothes that do not cover are strictly prohibited (no bare‐stomachs, shorts need to be half‐way between knee and thigh, no low‐cut shirts or spaghetti straps, no tight clothes, etc.) – IF YOU’RE NOT SURE, DON’T PACK IT. Girl's swimwear must be one piece; all two-pieces of any kind must have a tank-top or t-shirt worn over top.
Who else attends?
Campers come from several different churches from Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Florida, and Texas. In total, there will be about 80 – 100 campers ranging from after 6th grade through graduating seniors. The campground is exclusive to the camp your child is attending.
In what activities will campers participate?
Organized group games, rock climbing, rappelling, low/high ropes obstacle course, swimming, waterslide, worship, prayer, eating, billiards, ping‐pong, talent show, theme nights, and much more included in free‐time. All activities will have necessary safety equipment provided with the exception of swim‐wear, which each camper should bring (again, please be appropriate!).
Is there medical staff available?
There will be at least one nurse on staff throughout the entire camp who will be available to dispense medication and general first‐aid at any time.
Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville, NY or Charles Cole Memorial in Coudersport, PA.
Who runs YAC? What is the church affiliation?
Keystone Conference Youth Ministry Team is affiliated with the Free Methodist Church. The mission of the Free Methodist Church is to make known to all people everywhere God’s call to wholeness through forgiveness and holiness in Jesus Christ, and to invite into membership and to equip for ministry all who respond in faith.
(814) 848‐9811, this number is available for emergencies only. We ask that you do not call your child every day, but only in the case of true emergency. All parents will be notified if their camper had any emergency at camp. Not that all cell phones and other electronics will be collected during registration, and locked away in a safe place. Your child will not be accessible except through the camp phone.
May I visit?
Parents are welcome to attend the worship and message portion of the day from 7 – 9 pm each night during camp. Be advised that Ulysses, PA is a very small town and does not have any accommodations for overnight stays.
